Bathing
 

A bath is part of the normal hygiene:

Before the bath, the dog should be brushed properly.

Get special dog-shampoos and conditioner (balm), so the natural layer of oils is not destroyed. The fur should neither be too dry nor too oily.

There are special shampoos and conditioner for:

Shedding

Skin problems

Volume

Dry hair

And now how to give a bath in text and picture:

The dog should always get soaked with luke-warm water, so the biggest part of the dirt gets flushed out of the fur. For us humans waterproof clothing is recommended.

Important: Take care that while soaking your dog no water can get into the ears and eyes. Then the shampoo is applied thoroughly.

Shampoo should be applied with a sponge, it is much easier to do it that way. Afterwards massage it in with your hands.

Then rinse out the shampoo with lukewarm water:

Careful again not to bring any shampoo into ears and eyes!

With the first procedure we have cleaned the fur. Now it is important to tend the fur with balming substances. One achieves this with a good conditioner.

Just like with the shampoo, you should apply the balm with a sponge. Apply it all over your dog’s coat and massage it in thoroughly. Then let the conditioner work for 10 to 15 mins. before rinsing it out.

Like before: rinse it out thoroughly.
