Grooming-Generally

I
want to dedicate these pages to all the people who want to give their
Newfoundlands a new “haircut“. You can find information how to groom – or
trim - your Newfi in brochures and books. We think you should stick to the
basics, but we think it’s not OK to make something out of your dog that
doesn’t match his or her personality, e.G. to make him/her look like a famous
dog.
You should groom your dog to enhance the natural beauty of your companion- not to copy something else. Trim your dog just the way you would like it to look, that`s the right way.
Like
with everything else in life, it is a learning process and it won’t just
happen overnight.
It takes time and practice to get a routine.
There
are dog-owners who don’t care so much about the appearance of their pets. But
be honest- how would you look like if your hair is uncut and unkempt? Would you
walk in public filthy and dirty?
To
work effectively, a thorough care of the fur is necessary – this is described
on the “Grooming”-page.
And now we want to give some hints and advice how to groom your four-legged companion in word and text.
