My kennelstory

For a few years now I have been busy with the Newfoundlands and in this time I have tried to acquire as much knowledge as possible.

Through “Shadow“ – „Cannon Bear´s Questor” – who enabled me many contacts by his impressive appearance and his extremely great show results I have got to know much about the “Lines” of our beloved Newfoundlands, today.

So in summer 2001 the first long longed for “dream-female” came for me. That was my “Kendi“- „Kendian´s in your eyes”. From the very beginning I was faithful to my “line” and so I am more than happy that now my breeding with Kendi has started and is being established.

But the beginning was “Shadow”. After Shadow was here for a while there were further plans and step by step I have realised them.

Primarily has always been important to me - A Shadow-Offspring - Therefore I had several reasons:

However the most important was: the extremely great character of Shadow. Everyone who knows Shadow knows that he is an absolutely well-balanced, calm male, who really is a credit to everything that describes a Newfoundland. But of course he also has a beautiful, typical head.

Then “Zabor“- „Fearless Bear´s Zabor Always in Your Mind” came!
Zabor developed to a beautiful male, in which I have everything what I wished for from a son of Shadow. An extremely great character – full of joy and temper, but at the same time he is the most sensible male one can imagine. But also he has beautiful head and a dreamlike movement. And the most important thing of course is that Zabor is an absolutely healthy male.

In the meantime I have also been in contact with Diane and Ken Price who for a while. It is due to them that I have Shadow, because Diane and Ken are the owners of Shadow´s Dad “Andrew”. Yes, and so it became surer and surer to me that my first female should be from the “American line”. And even if I had to wait long – I had a very typical line in mind J. And one day I got the wonderful news that “Lexus” (half sister of Shadow) was going to have puppies together with “London” and I was going to get a female out of this litter. In Kendi I have everything what I was looking for …. may it be “London”, “Lexus”, “Andrew” or “Sophie”.

Yes, and now the so charming little princess has already become a real lady, which has already conquered many hearts with her temper, but also with her beauty. If you look at her show results you know that she has also “bribed” many jurors.

But we all know that all those things for the breeding are not enough. So I am even happier that in Kendi I have not only the dream female in the looks but that Kendi is also very healthy. Therefore she is going to be the foundation for my breeding.

In the meantime we also got my “Joy“ „Skipper´s Cinderella“. She has never been planned but nevertheless I am happy to have this female here in my pack. She simply is the dog for the heart. As her father Shadow she is a very calm, gentle, smooch female which you simply have to love.

So this is how I have just laid the foundation for the beginning of my breeding.

And if you follow my story just a little bit than you will be able to understand me that I have chosen a very special “Kennel-name” – as a thank you for Shadow I am going to start my breeding under the from the FCI protected name

It won´t be an easy way but of course I have put myself breeding goals and I am always going to try to realise them.

To breed healthy, strong willed, typical Newfoundlands and most of all the support and preservation of the unique, wonderful character of the Newfoundland.

It will always be important to me that all the puppies are well socialized – for humans and the environment – and as a breeder I am going to use the Prägungsphase , which lays the foundation for the character, very conscientious and full of love. Only then I am going to give the puppies to their new home where hopefully they will be able to cope with every situation.

So I hope that in spring – summer 2003 there is going to be the first litter in the Kennel (look at Planing Litter):
